2021 Men's All Americans Announced

8 March—National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) released the names of the Men’s All American award winners for the 2021 season.

The NCR Men’s All American program recognizes student-athletes who have earned this distinct honor for being top performers in Fall 2021. Recognition as an NCR All American is a special honor that is reserved for the “best of the best.”

There are 39 conferences represented over four divisions. Division I, Division I-AA, Division II and Small College clubs are dominated by the Mid-Atlantic conference with the most awarded players.

West Point has the most selected players in Division I with their Center, Hooker and Prop being nominated. Division I-AA is filled with players from outside the national championship teams although National Champion Virginia Tech and runner-up West Chester has the most selections. Division II’s list includes players from playoff teams including Adrian College, Thomas More University, Norwich University and the University of Northern Iowa. The Small College All American list includes players from 15 universities across the nation. National Cohen Cup Champion Christendom College leads the pack with four selections while Challenge Cup Champion Siena College has three selections.

Commissioners Steve Hiatt, Small College Division, and Brad Dufek, Divisions I-II, recognize that these players worked extremely hard to be the “best of the best” after an abbreviated season last year. Dufek says “These players deserve every part of this award. Let’s not forget that their teams help lift them to the success they saw this year. We hope that the remaining competitions will bring a spotlight on how their fitness and hard work pays off on the field.”

Steve Hiatt says “Congratulations to these All Americans. Being an All American is an honor to cherish as well as a standard to uphold. Your hard work, exceptional focus, and special performances were noticed and elevated you from thousands of your peers. Well done!”
